Territorial Flag

"Territorial Flag" is a handmade flag made working the raffia with a slow traditional technique on whom I applied the clay of my village.

There are several aspects that converge in this work, first of all the spiritual relationship with the territory.

 

The piece, made with natural and fragile materials, does not define any specific place and does not present a definite shape, like a flag normally does. To identify through a flag means to delimit, to draw a limite, to exclude.

It is the representation of spiritual sense of belonging, which comes directly from the earth, atavistic and primitive.; from the local I tried to represent a universal concept, the intimate need to belong, but at the same time to be a person outside the community.
